Dr. Bloom, a native of Maryland, graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. She graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Upon graduation, Dr. Bloom entered a post-doctoral residency program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Florida and graduated with a Master of Science in oral biology and certificate in orthodontics. Dr. Bloom’s thesis evaluated the benefits of early orthodontic treatment, and she participated in an extraordinary research study of Class II malocclusion, which is still used as an important tenet in orthodontics.

Dr. Bloom currently resides in Clarksville, MD with her husband Paul. They have two sons, Jake (22) who is a college graduate with a BS in Biology hoping to go to medical school and Max (20) who is a sophomore at UMD studying criminology and global terrorism. When she’s not working, Dr. Bloom enjoys running, yoga, playing tennis, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family outdoors hiking and exploring. Dr. Bloom's passion is in integrative nutrition where she is always researching, learning, and taking classes. She is also a certified hospice volunteer with Gilchrist Hospice.
